NOUN |
কোন কিছুর নাম কে Noun বলে। যেমন: (a) Rahim is a good boy. (b) Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh.
Classification of Noun
Noun মোট পাঁচ প্রকার :
1. Proper Noun ( নির্দিষ্ট নাম) : যেমনঃ Rahim, Dhaka, Rupa, Friday, April, Asia, rose, Earth etc.
2. Common Noun (শ্রেণীর নাম) : যেমনঃ Man, Girl, Dog, River, Flower, Planet, Poet, Mother etc.
3. Collective Noun ( সমষ্টিবাচক নাম) : যেমনঃ Team, Party, Army, Police, Jury, Committee, Family, Class etc
4. Material Noun ( বস্তুবাচক বিশেষ্য) : যেমনঃ Gold, Iron, silver, Milk, Tea, Water, Salt etc.
5. Abstract Noun ( ইন্দ্রিয়গ্রাহ্যহীন বিশেষ্য) : যেমনঃ Honesty, Poverty, Happiness, Judgment, Childhood etc.
Classification চিনার উপায়ঃ
(1) Proper Noun- এই noun নির্দিষ্ট নাম বুঝায়। যেমন: (a) Rahim is a good boy. (b) Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh.
(2) Common Noun : এই noun চিনার জন্য সর্বদাই খেয়াল রাখা দরকার এই noun দ্বারা কাউকে নির্দিষ্টভাবে বুঝায় না বরং সাধারণভাবে বুঝাবে । Proper Noun এবং Common Noun নিয়ে যাতে আমরা Confused বা দ্বিধা দ্বন্দ্বে না পড়ি তার জন্য নীচের Chart টি ব্যবহার করতে পারি।

(3) Collective Noun: চিনার জন্য খেয়াল রাখা দরকার যে Collective Noun হল কয়েকটি Noun এর সমষ্টি । ইহা দ্বারা একাএকা কাউকে বুঝাবে না বরং সকলের সম্মিলিত নাম বুঝাবে। যেমন:
(a) I read in class seven. (b) I saw a herd of sheep in the field.
Class হল অনেক গুলি ছাত্রের সমষ্টি, herd শব্দটি দ্বারা একটিমাত্র ভেড়াকে বুঝায় না বরং ভেড়ার পালকে বুঝায়।

(d) Material Noun: (দ্রব্য বাচক বিশেষ্য) যে সমস্ত জিনিষ গুনা যায় না শুধুমাত্র ওজন করা যায় তাকে Material Noun বলে। যেমন: (a) Gold is a precious metal. (b)Water is liquid.
(c) He is eating rice. (d) Sugar is sweet. (e) Milk is white.
Common Noun এবং Material Noun এর মধ্যে পার্থক্য বুঝতে নীচের ছকটার দিকে একটু নজর দেয়া যাক:

(e) Abstract Noun: যা দ্বারা দোষের নাম, গুনের নাম , অবস্থার নাম বুঝায়। যা ধরা যায় না, ছোয়া যায় না,শুধুমাত্র অনুভব করা যায় তাহাই Abstract Noun. যেমন: (a) Kindness is a great virtue. (b) Honesty is the best policy. (c) Patience has its reward. (d) Unity is strength. (e) Friendship makes a man happy.
Note: সাধারণভাবে যখন কোন শব্দের শেষে cy, ce, age, ry, ice, ship, tion, ness, ism, ty, ment ইত্যাদি থাকবে তখন সেগুলি Abstract Noun হবে যেমন: Advice, carefulness, wisdom, growth, accuracy, heroism.
এছাড়াও নিম্মলিখিত পাঁচ প্রকারের শব্দ Abstract Noun হিসাবে গণ্য হবে।
