Subordinate Adjective Clause

Subordinate Adjective Clause বাক্যের এমন একটি Subordinate Clause (যার একটি subject ও একটি finite verb রয়েছে) যে Clause টি Sentence-বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত হয়ে Adjective – এর কাজ করে। অর্থাৎ কোন Noun / Noun Phrase এর পরে বসে যে clause -খন্ডবাক্য পূর্বের ঐ Noun /Noun phrase কে আরো পরিস্কারভাবে তুলে ধরে বা qualify করে, তাকে Adjective clause / Subordinate Adjective clause ধরতে হয়।

        1. This is the pen which I am looking for.    2. The man whom you helped is my brother.

        3. Tell me the time when he will come.        4. I know the boy who stood first.

        5. I remember the place where I was born.

Difference between Noun Clause & Adjective Clause :

Noun Caluse	Adjective Clause
I know who came here yesterday.	I know the man who came here yesterday.
He told me why he came here lastnight.	He told me the reason why he came here lastnight.
He narrated how he killed his friend.	He narrated   the process how he killed his friend.
Father asked me when I came back home.	Father asked me the time when I came back home.
They knew what I wanted from you.	They knew the matter what I wanted from you.

প্রদত্ত বাক্যগুলির প্রথম ঘরের বাকা অংশ গুলি Noun Clause. কেননা এরা সবাই এদের আগের যে Verb আছে, তার Object হিসাবে কাজ করছে কিন্তু দ্বিতীয ঘরের বাকা অংশ গুলি Adjective Clause (যদিও এরা দেখতে আগের বাক্যের মতই)। কেননা এরা সবাই  এদের আগের যে Noun আছে, তার অবস্থা প্রকাশ করছে ।
