Than এর পরের অংশ (NP2) + Verb (বিপরীত sense - হ্যাঁ থাকলে না, না থাকলে হ্যাঁ) + so / as + Adj এর pos + as + বাক্যের Sub (NP1)
e.g.: Kamal is not so tall as Hasan |
বাক্যের Sub (NP1) + Verb (বিপরীত sense - হ্যাঁ থাকলে না, না থাকলে হ্যাঁ) + Adj এর Com + than + তুলনীয় অংশ (NP2)
e.g.: Hasan is taller than Kamal. |

Sub (NP1) + Verb + no less / not less থাকলে as/so, less থাকলে not as/so + Adj এর pos + as + NP2 e.g.: Kamal is so tall as Hasan Kamal is not so tall as Hasan. |
Sub (NP1) + Verb + as/so থাকলে no less / not less, not as/so থাকলে less + Adj এর pos + than + NP2 Kamal is no less tall than Hasan Kamal is less tall than Hasan |

Note: ১নং নিয়মের Superlative এ of all / of any থাকলে positive এ তা উঠে যায়, Comparative এ of all = than all other, of any = than any other বসে। কিছু না থাকলেও than any other বসে।
- Positive এ আসতে এবং Positive থেকে যেতে পুরো বাক্য উল্টে যায় অর্থাৎ বাক্যের শুরু অংশ শেষ এবং শেষ অংশ শুরুতে আসে।

2. Irregular comparative form যুক্ত adjective গুলোর নিম্নে বর্ণিত নিয়ম অনুয়ায়ী comparison হয়। নিম্নে কয়েকটি irregular adjective উল্লেখ করা হল:

3. যদি কোন Sentence এর প্রথম clause টি comparative form এ হয়, তাহলে দ্বিতীয় clause টিও comparative form-এ হয় এবং দুটি comparative এর পূর্বেই the বসে। এক্ষেত্রে, প্রথম clause টি কারণ এবং দ্বিতীয় clause ফলাফল বুঝায়। Example : The faster we finish the sooner we can leave.

Than ছাড়াএ তুলনা বুঝাতে adjective এর comparative degree ব্যবহৃত হয়, তবে সেক্ষেত্রে sentence এ প্রথমে বা শেষে of the two / pair / twins উল্লেখ থাকবে, এবং এক্ষেত্রে comparative-এর পূর্বে the ব্যবহৃত হয়। Example : Harvey is the smarter of the two boys / Of the two books this one is the more interesting.
5. অনেক সময় অর্থকে জোর প্রদানের জন্য Comparative degree এর পূর্বে far / much ব্যবহৃত হতে পারে। Example : A watermelon is much sweeter than a lemon . / She dances much more artistically than her predecessors
6. দুইয়ের অধিক Entity-র মধ্যে তুলনা বুঝাতে adjective-এর superlative degree ব্যবহৃত হয় এবং superlative এর পূর্বে সব সময় the ব্যবহৃত হয়। Exercises : she is prettier of all the girls in our class.
7. Sentence-এ one of the থাকলে adjective-এর superlative degree ব্যবহৃত হবে।Example : One of the greatest tennis players in the world is Biron Borg / Kuwait is one of the biggest oil producers in the world
8. Comparative estimates ---- multiple numbers: কোন Sentence-এ যদি multiple number থাকে, তাহলে এর পর as many as অথবা as much as ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Uncountable noun এর জন্য as much as ব্যবহৃত হয়। Multiple number গুলো হলো: Half / Twice / Three times / four times etc
Note : multiple number এর পরে কখনো so ------as অথবা more than / less than ব্যবহৃত হয় না। এখানে, many much এর পর noun থাকতেও পারে আবার নাও থাকতে পারে। Exercises : This one is prettier , but it costs twice much as the other one.
9. Comparative estimates -----as many as :
তুলনা বুঝাতে নির্দিষ্ট সংখ্যার পূর্বে As many as ব্যবহৃত হয়। Exercises : There are as many fifteen thousand students attending summer school
10. Illogical comparative degrees
Comparison সাধারনত একই entity এর মধ্যে হয়ে থাকে, কিন্তু কখনো আলাদা দুটি জিনিসের মধ্যে compare করা হলে illogical comparison হয়ে থাকে। এক্ষেত্রে that of / those of ব্যবহার করে illogical comparison কে logical comparison এ পরিণত করা যায়।
মনে রাখবে, Singular noun এর জন্য that of এবং plural noun এর জন্য those of ব্যবহার করতে হয়।Exercise : Her qualifications are better than those of any other candidate
Note : possessive ব্যবহার করে illogical comparison-কে logical comparison এ রুপ দেওয়া যায়। Example: His drawings are as perfect as his instructor's ( possessive )
Note : এখানে instructor's এর মানে হচ্ছে instructors' drawings
11. তুলনা যদি দুইটি Noun এর মধ্যে না বুঝিয়ে দুইটি adjective এর মধ্যে বুঝায়, তাহলে প্রথমটির আগে more ব্যবহৃত হয় এবং উভয় adjective এর positive degree হয়।Example : This rice is more cheaper than good
12. নিম্নলিখিত Adjective সব সময় comparative- এ ব্যবহৃত হয় এবং এদের পর than না বসে to বসে। Superior , inferior , senior , junior , prior , posterior. Example: She is senior to you by three years
