Introduction:
The policeman who controls the movement of people and vehicles on the road is called a traffic police. Traffic polices include officers who patrol major roads and also polices who address traffic infractions on other roads.
Description of job:
The role of traffic police is most important when the amount of transportation is in huge number.
He generally stands on the island or the crossing point of the roads. He has a specific uniform. He also uses an umbrella to protect himself from rain and the sun. His duty is to control the traffic in the busy and crowded roads. He uses a whistle to draw the attention of the drivers and passers-by. He tries to minimize accidents and jams so that people and vehicles can move easily. As soon as he raises his hand across a road, all the vehicles passing along that road stop at once. The passers-by then cross the road safely.
A traffic police basically performs his duty by providing public safety. He does this by maintaining order, responding to emergencies, protecting people and property, enforcing motor vehicle and criminal laws. He also performs the task of maintaining a smooth traffic system. He has an authority to check the speed limit of a vehicle. He can also fine and arrest a driver for not following traffic rules.Â
Conclusion:
Traffic police helps us in many ways. We should always be cooperative with them. They work hard all day in the sun and rain just to ensure safety for the public. And we, by breaking the rules, make it harder for them and disrespect their work. Compared to their work, they are ill paid. They are serving the community through their hard work. A traffic police should be given due respect
