Introduction:
The Liberation war museum was established in 1996 to honor the Bangladeshi freedom fighters of the Liberation War of 1971. It is now recognized, nationally and internationally as a reliable place protecting the history of Bangladesh. The museum brings to us many untold stories of bravery, will power, heartbreaks and victory.
My experience:
Last year, we visited Liberation War Museum in our school’s study tour. It was a very educative and exciting place to visit.
We reached at 9 a.m. and a guide welcomed us warmly and took us on a quick tour of the different galleries of the museum. The Museum is a two-storied building. It has six galleries which has rare photographs, documents, news-paper clipping, and objects used by the freedom fighters and the martyrs of our great Liberation War.
In the third gallery, we saw the Declaration of Independence by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. We were sad to see the heart-touching relics like the personal belongings of some of our martyrs and freedom fighters. There was a pair of glasses, a pen, a note-book, a moneybag, a soiled shirt and such other relics in the sixth gallery. Before leaving the museum, we watched a video film on the Liberation War and our Independence. We left the museum at 3 p.m.
Conclusion:
We felt very proud after getting such chance to visit there. It was a great experience of my life. It made me admire our freedom fighters even more. It also created a new sense of patriotism in me.I think every Bangladeshi should visit there.
